দুরবীন নিউজ বিশ্বাস করে, নির্ভুলতা, ন্যায্যতা ও দায়িত্বশীলতা ছাড়া সাংবাদিকতা টেকসই হয় না। তাই সংবাদ সংগ্রহ, যাচাই, সম্পাদনা ও প্রকাশের প্রতিটি ধাপে আমরা নিচের নৈতিক নীতিগুলো মেনে চলি।

নির্ভুলতা ও সত্যতা

প্রমাণভিত্তিক সংবাদ প্রকাশকে আমরা অগ্রাধিকার দিই।
গুরুত্বপূর্ণ দাবি বা সংবেদনশীল তথ্য প্রকাশের আগে একাধিক সূত্রে মিলিয়ে দেখা হয়।
নাম, পদবি, সংখ্যা, তারিখ ও স্থান যাচাই করে প্রকাশ করা হয়।

ন্যায্যতা ও ভারসাম্য

সংশ্লিষ্ট পক্ষের বক্তব্য নেওয়ার যুক্তিসংগত চেষ্টা করা হয়।
একতরফা বা বিভ্রান্তিকর উপস্থাপন এড়িয়ে চলা হয়।
শিরোনাম বা প্রতিবেদনে অতিরঞ্জিত ও চটকদার ভাষা ব্যবহার করা হয় না।

সম্পাদকীয় স্বাধীনতা ও স্বচ্ছতা

দুরবীন নিউজের সম্পাদকীয় সিদ্ধান্ত স্বাধীনভাবে নেওয়া হয়।
বিজ্ঞাপনদাতা, স্পন্সর বা অন্য কোনো পক্ষ আমাদের সংবাদ কাভারেজ বা সম্পাদকীয় সিদ্ধান্তে প্রভাব ফেলতে পারে না।

স্বার্থের সংঘাত

ব্যক্তিগত লাভ, পক্ষপাত বা সম্পর্কের কারণে তৈরি হওয়া স্বার্থের সংঘাত এড়িয়ে চলা হয়।
কোনো সম্ভাব্য সংঘাত থাকলে তা সম্পাদকীয় নেতৃত্বকে জানানো বাধ্যতামূলক।
উপহার, সুবিধা বা অনৈতিক প্রভাব গ্রহণ করা হয় না।

সূত্র, উদ্ধৃতি ও কৃতিত্ব

যতটা সম্ভব তথ্যের সূত্র উল্লেখ করা হয়।
উদ্ধৃতি হুবহু উপস্থাপন করা হয়, কাটছাঁট করে অর্থ বদলে দেওয়া হয় না।
ছবি, ভিডিও ও ডেটা ব্যবহারে কপিরাইট ও কৃতিত্বের নিয়ম মানা হয়।

গোপন সূত্র ও সংবেদনশীল তথ্য

স্পষ্ট জনস্বার্থ থাকলেই কেবল সতর্কতার সঙ্গে পরিচয় গোপন রেখে সূত্র ব্যবহার করা হয়।
শিশু, নির্যাতন, মানসিক আঘাত, ব্যক্তিগত গোপনীয়তা এবং চিকিৎসা বা পারিবারিক তথ্যের ক্ষেত্রে বাড়তি সতর্কতা নেওয়া হয়।
অপ্রয়োজনে কারও ব্যক্তিগত তথ্য প্রকাশ করা হয় না।

ক্ষতি কমানো

সহিংসতা, আত্মহানি, ঘৃণামূলক বক্তব্য বা উসকানির খবরে দায়িত্বশীল ভাষা ও ছবি ব্যবহার করা হয়।
কোনো গোষ্ঠীকে অপমান, বিদ্বেষ বা হয়রানির লক্ষ্য করে কনটেন্ট প্রকাশ করা হয় না।

সংশোধনী ও জবাবদিহি

অনিচ্ছাকৃত ভুল হলে দ্রুত সংশোধন করা হয় এবং প্রয়োজনে সংশোধনী বা হালনাগাদের নোট যোগ করা হয়।

প্রযুক্তি ও কৃত্রিম বুদ্ধিমত্তা

সংবাদ তৈরিতে কোনো প্রযুক্তি বা টুল ব্যবহার করা হলেও যাচাই ও সম্পাদকীয় দায় দুরবীন নিউজের।
ভুল বা বিভ্রান্তিকর তথ্য এড়াতে মানুষের সম্পাদনা ও যাচাই বজায় রাখা হয়।
